Photo Shoot

There’s nothing like catching up with a good friend. The kind of friendship where it doesn’t matter how much time has passed since you last saw each other because you can pick up right where you left off, spending an entire afternoon laughing about old times. I have that kind of kindred friendship with Dominika. We both come from large first-generation immigrant families, and share a love for tea, travel, and techno music! We also share a creative streak. Dominika is an incredibly talented photographer, and is the woman behind Nika Photo. So when we were hanging out in NJ last week and she offered to take a few photos of me with a new camera lense, I was beyond excited! Our impromptu photo shoot took place right between two rain storms; who’d have known that it was perfect photography weather? The temperatures were unseasonably warm, and the soft winds gave my hair the super-model treatment (if only for a day!).

A big thank you to Dominika who showed me that grey skies and cloudy days can sometimes be the best days!

Well I love them all. You are so beautiful and photogenice. OK I must give Dominika some credit as well! In the group of 3, I like the lower right one. I like both with the umbrella and love the last one as well.

  Thank you so much Cathy! Dominika was so great to work with; she really put me at ease (when I was feeling so self-conscious!). She is based out of Westfield/ Garwood if you want some portraits or family shots.
