Bienvenidos a Colombia!

More specifically, Bogota!  I got in late last night for my very first stay at a hostel. I must admit, I was less than thrilled when I saw the room, but it’s grown on me! After an icy cold shower this morning, I headed out to see the city. First up was the Plaza Bolivar, and surrounding areas. Then, I got my own personal tour guide! My friend Bonnie’s cousin, Diana, was nice enough to show me around for the day. We walked around the Candelera neighborhood, and had lunch at her favorite restaurant. Then we headed up to Monserrate. We took a cable car to the top of the mountain, where we had an excellent view of the sprawling city below. So far, so good. The people are very friendly, and the weather is wonderful. Not too hot, not too cold. A nice change from the frigid northeast!

  3. It all looks so beautiful! Glad to see you are off to a good start. Hey, try to post some pictures of your hostels if you can. I’m curious as to what they are like.
