Dose Market, Chicago
There’s just something I love about markets, street fairs, and festivals. It’s the perfect leisurely activity for a lazy Sunday. It’s also great opportunity to check out local vendors! I read about Dose Market online, and since the event took place right in my neighborhood, I had to pop over to check it out. From the Dose website:

This is a great way to spend an afternoon: fun music, wonderful people, amazing food, and cool products for sale. And free-flowing Goose Island (and Bloody Marys!) included in the admission!
For lunch I stopped at table hosted by Yo Soy, and met the boys behind the operation, Mikey and Brian, who had the best energy! I went with the Tacos de Hongos (mushroom), accompanied with the most delicious apple and beet salsa. And they gave me a complimentary agua fresco “just for being awesome!” Can’t complain!
It was really cool seeing all of the unique products, fashions, and jewelry. This booth by Dallas Maynard really caught my eye. Dallas is a talented (and very sweet!) local artisan who told me all about her latest collection. I ended up buying a necklace for myself – can’t wait to wear it!
Of course you can’t leave without dessert. So many tempting options to choose from, but I went with the Strawberry Rhubarb Tart from Rustic Tart. Amazing flavor!
Enjoyed outside! As you can see, Dose was the perfect opportunity to rock my TOMS like all the cool kids!

Apple and beer salsa? How was that? Sounds interesting.
Apple and BEET! For a second I thought I made a typo 😉 It was actually very delicious. It had an acidic component to it (vinegar maybe?!). Although now I’m curious to try an apple and beer salsa, as you suggested, haha!
So what your saying is that I can’t read. Or that I have beer on the mind. That may be true…
Now I need to find a beer salsa recipe!
