About

KVcollage
Hi, I’m Kavi!
I’m a scientist, writer, jet-setter, former New Yorker, and newly transplanted Chicagoan.  I’m passionate about travel and seeing the world!  Over the years, I’ve taken every opportunity that I could to travel, but eventually, those few measly weeks of vacation time per year weren’t enough to satiate my wanderlust, and I did something a bit drastic: I quit my day job and backpacked around the world!  It was an amazing experience, which pushed me outside of my comfort zone and showed me the beauty of the world and its people.
I started this website as a way to document my travels, but it evolved into something more; through blogging, I rediscovered my love of writing and communication. This insight led me to shift careers, from scientific research to medical communications to pharmaceutical advertising & promotion. And with these shifts, I moved halfway across the country, from NYC to Chicago –  a whole new set of adventures.
As my tagline suggests, this blog isn’t just about travel; it’s also about the other things that make my world go round. Things like science, photography, exploring my new surroundings in Chicago, trying new recipes, spending time with friends and family, and of course, dreaming of my next big trip! I’m not sure where the future will lead me, but as the saying goes, it’s all about the journey.  Thanks for stopping by, and I hope you’ll join me for the ride!

  1. Hey Kavi thanks for the follow! There’s alot about the blog that is similar to mine….we love lots of different things about life….that’s cool.

  2. Hi Kavi,
Thank you for stopping by Ancestreats and liking our “Spinach Casserole” post. Wow, you’re back from a year abroad. Do you still have the travel itch, or does it feel good to have a home base again? One positive is you may have access to a kitchen, 🙂 Next time you’re cooking up a family fav, we welcome you to share it on Ancestreats via the submit page.
